Avon Valley Show Stables offers quality Hunt Seat riding instruction for riders of all ages and levels. From beginners getting their first leg up, to accomplished riders looking to improve their skills, the AVSS Summer Program has options for everyone.
We offer two programs designed to accommodate boys and girls of all ages and ability. The Morning Session, for horse enthusiasts 7- 15 years old, runs Mon – Fri. from 9 am – 1 pm. For lessons, students will be divided into groups based on age and ability of the rider. Mounted games, stable management, horsemanship and other fun activities round out the day! Program size is limited to 12 riders.
The cost for the Morning Program is $400. 5% multi-child discount (Morning program only- applied towards balance due.) $150 non-refundable deposit due at registration.
Interested in learning more about competitions?
Sign of for camps the week of July 14-18 and/or July 21-25. This is a great chance for riders from walk-trot up through advanced to learn about different types of competitions, riding teams, how to prepare for a show and ring strategies to maximize your performance. A mock show will round out the week. Interested riders may also opt to road trip on the weekend to an away show (additional fees applied) or sign up for our winning IEA Team.

Young riders don’t have to miss out on all the fun! The Pony Pal Program is held Tues – Thurs. from 11:30- 1:00. Horse lovers ages 4 – 6 years old will have a chance to learn safe handling, grooming and basic riding skills. Pony Pals Program is limited to 4 riders each session. Sign up early!
The cost is $150 per week. $75 non-refundable deposit due at registration.

Every rider should wear a t-shirt (no tank tops please!), close fitting pants (no shorts) and a hard soled boot with a small heel. No sneakers or rain boots. Morning Program participants are to bring a snack, lunch and plenty to drink! Pony Pal riders are encouraged to bring a water bottle. Please apply all sunscreens and bug sprays at home.
