This special camp is for riders interested in showing.  Riders will learn how to properly prepare and compete in a rated show.  Camp runs Mon 6/25 – Wed 6/27 from 2-5 pm. On Thursday 6/28  they will compete in a rated AVSS show. The $300 cost includes the Mon-Wed. camp as well as training and lease of a horse on the day of the show.  Horse Show office and entry fees are additional and will vary depending on the classes entered.  Riders are required to have proper show attire.

Join us at the following away shows for friendly competition.  Classes are available for Lead Line, Walk-Trot, Walk-Trot-Canter and jumping.  Riders must have full, appropriate show attire. Costs listed below include trailering, use of the horse and training. Entry fees and other horse show fees are additional and vary depending on the number and types of classes.  The rates for Lead Line assume there is already a suitable pony going.  If we have to bring a pony just for Lead Line, the rate will be different.

Our morning program is specifically designed for girls and boys ages 7-15, who have an interest in horses.  Students will be divided into two groups depending on age and/or ability of the rider.

Students receive daily instruction in English riding on our friendly, trustworthy horses.  Our instructors will assist students as they gain skills on horseback and in activities involving basic horse care.

The program will be held Monday to Friday during Winter and Spring vacations and weekly from late June to late August.  Each day will  run from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.  It is crucial that student’s are dropped off on time.

Proper attire for riding consists of close fitting pants (i.e. jeans) and hard soled shoes with a heel.  NO SNEAKERS!

The cost of the program is $400 per week, of which a nonrefundable $50 deposit is to be returned with the application.  The remaining balance must be paid in full on the first day of the program.  Checks should be made payable to Avon Valley Show Stables.  Please call us at (860) 677-5260 to register.

Also offered is our Pony Pal program for riders ages 3 – 6.  Running in the afternoons from 1 – 2:30 pm Tuesdays through Fridays, the cost of this program is $150 per week.
