 Available Lesson Packages

6 Lessons – $275

10 Lessons – $450

Single Lessons – $55

All single lessons must be paid at the time of service.  Any lessons unpaid by the day of service will incur an additional $5 fee.

The pony pals program is designed for children ages 4-6. A one-time beginner introductory package is for ages 7& up who have an interest in horses. Both packages receive instruction focused on horse safety, grooming and tacking up, correct positioning in the saddle, riding on the lead and lunge line. Once riders are comfortable tacking up for lessons with minimal assistant we suggest riders graduate to one of the other packages to maximize riding time.

Riders have the option of paying per lesson at a rate of $55. 24 hour notice is required for cancellations. Please call the office at (860)677-5260 as soon as you know you will be unable to attend.  The office will in turn notify the instructor.  This allows other instructors to plan horse usage.  Riders cancelling with less than 24 hr. notice will still be responsible for the cost of the lesson..  Individuals that chronically cancel, even with 24 hour notice, will be required to pre-pay for their lesson, forfeiting the cost of the lesson should they cancel.

 I.E.A Team

Avon Valley Show Stables is proud to host successful Middle school (grades 6-8) and Upper school (grades 9-12) Interscholastic Equestrian Association riding teams.  You don’t need to own your own horse to participate! Riders travel to an IEA host barn, where a horse, which they have never ridden, is assigned, and show this animal to the best of their ability with minimal to no practice on that horse! Classes are offered for beginner walk-trot-canter riders up to advanced (Open).  Riders compete as Individuals and as part of the Team to earn enough points to advance to the “post season” – Regionals, Zones, and Nationals!

AVSS has consistently qualified Individuals and Teams for the prestigious National Finals.  Hi-lights from 2016! Our Middle School Team taking home the Regional Championship;  We also have 4 riders who qualified individually for Zone 1 Finals! We are looking forward to seeing them compete later this month! Good Luck to all!

AVSS is recruiting riders to join our Team!

Riders must take a minimum of 2 lessons per week with the IEA coaches and commit to the full season. The regular season runs from Sept. to Feb, with post season play happening in March and April.  Contact Emer for Chelsea at (860) 677-5260 for more info.
